Effective October 4, 2026. This policy describes Story Vault only. It is not copied from another app.
Who we are
LIA.M Studios operates Story Vault. This policy covers the account, the library, reading achievements, comments, and creator uploads in this app. Drama Vault is a separate app and is not covered here.
Account name and email
Required to create an account. Used to sign you in, show your name on comments, and reach you about the account when a message channel exists. The name can be changed. The email can be changed after you enter your password.
Password
Required. Story Vault stores a scrambled password record, not the password itself. It is used only to check that it is you. You can change it or use the reset flow.
Profile photo
Optional. Used only as the picture on your account. The photo is taken from the picture you choose. Story Vault does not browse your photo library in the background. You can remove the photo.
Reading progress, bookmarks, and reader settings
Used to reopen a story on the same page, keep bookmarks, and remember text size, font, theme, spacing, and brightness. On this device they are stored locally even before you sign in. After you agree, they can be saved on the account. Audio position is stored with the chapter progress so narration can resume. These are optional. You can keep reading without an account, on this device only.
Reading achievements
If you are signed in, a daily reading check-in, reading time, and achievement marks can be stored on the account. They have no cash value and do not change what you can read.
Manuscripts, comments, and reports
Creator manuscripts and story files are stored so the studio can review and publish them. Comments are stored so other readers can see them and so reports can be reviewed. Reports, blocks, and mutes are stored so moderation can work. A comment is optional. A manuscript is optional and is only for people submitting a story.
Device and diagnostics
Sign-in can store the IP address and browser type that the session system records. That is used to keep the session valid and to investigate abuse. Story Vault does not currently send a separate diagnostics package to an outside analytics company.
Notifications
Optional. Your on or off choice is saved. Push delivery is not connected, so turning the choice on does not send messages yet. The choice is here so it can be honored if delivery is added.
Analytics
Optional and off unless you turn it on in Privacy Settings. Even if you turn it on, Story Vault does not currently send reading data to a third-party analytics company. The choice is stored so a later tool can respect it.
Support messages
Optional. If you write to Help and Support or file a copyright notice, the message and the email you type are stored for the studio to read inside Story Manager.
Service providers
Account and library data are stored in Story Vault’s own database. In a deployed app that database is hosted for LIA.M Studios. In this preview it can live with the preview server. No payment company, email delivery company, or advertising company is connected. If that changes, this policy will name them.
Sharing
Story Vault does not sell personal information. Comments you post are visible to other readers until they are removed. The studio’s administrators can see reports, support messages, and manuscripts in order to run the service. Data can be disclosed if the law requires it.
Retention
Account data stays until you delete the account or the studio closes it. Reading data on the account is deleted with the account. A deletion request may keep the email only until the request is finished, then the request can be closed. Comment text that was public may remain if it was quoted in a moderation note, without your name once the account is gone.
Security
Passwords are hashed. Sessions expire. Administrators are a separate list from readers. No method of storage is perfect. Use a unique password and the deletion tools if you want your data removed.
Children
Story Vault is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly keep an account for a child under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, use Help and Support or the deletion page so it can be removed. Mature stories ask the reader to confirm they are 18 or older.
Your choices
Privacy Settings let you turn analytics and notification choices on or off and record that you are 18 or older for Mature stories. You can change your name, email, password, and photo. You can block or mute another reader. You can delete the account.
Photo library and notifications
A profile photo uses the photo picker only when you choose a picture. Story Vault does not ask to scan the library. Notification permission is not requested because delivery is not connected.
Deletion
Delete Account is in Profile and at the public deletion page. You do not need to reinstall the app. The signed-in flow asks for your password, explains what will be removed, and lets you cancel. A person who cannot sign in can submit the email on the account so the studio can finish the deletion.
Updates
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes. Continued use after that date means you accept the update.
